Spend a night with us at the Zoo!

From 3rd December, visitors to Wellington Zoo will be required to be vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to entry. This will enable us to continue operating through all levels of the COVID-19 Protection Framework. Please note all visitors over the age of 12 will be required to wear mask while at the Zoo.

Children under 12-years and 3-months will not be required to present a COVID-19 Vaccination Pass.

Our duty of care is to look after our visitors, Zoo team and animals. This is a decision we take seriously, and we will be regularly reviewing in line with government advice to ensure it is still the right approach.

Bring your group for a magical Zoo Sleepover and get to experience behind the scenes at Wellington Zoo after everyone else has gone home.

During your Zoo Sleepover you will get out and about in the Zoo after the other visitors have gone. See what happens behind the scenes at the Zoo and tempt one of our amazing animals with a night-time snack.

After all that excitement, you get to bed down with your buddies – you could be snuggling up at the Archibald Centre, which overlooks Monkey Island, or snoozing in our Living Room, in close quarters with some of our cutest critters.
The next morning you get to see what happens at the Zoo before our visitors arrive and make a special gift to keep our animals stimulated and happy, with your adventure ending as we open the doors at 9.30am.

Bring your sleeping bag and pillow and some warm clothes for night-time adventuring. We’ll provide sleeping rolls but you’re welcome to bring your own mattress if you like. Don’t forget your camera to snap some precious photos to remember your wild night!

Age: 5 years old and up
Participants: Maximum 70 people
Cost: $900 for up to 20 people, $45 for each extra person for larger groups. This includes free Zoo entry, a light snack and continental breakfast. Please note – eat dinner before you arrive.
Time: 7pm – 9.30am the next day, though you are welcome to spend time in the Zoo after your sleepover.
